Environmental concerns
fiberon® uses 100% recycled domestic wood by-product (maple) recovered from
flooring and furniture manufacturers and some recycled plastic, instead of harvesting trees from endangered rainforests. fiberon®
does not require toxic preservatives to prevent rotting, splitting or turning gray. It is naturally resistant to all species of wood eating
insects like termites.
The right blend & the right ingredients
fiberon® composite decking is made with 50% HDPE and 50% wood floor. HDPE provides superior
physical and mechanical performance. Maple provides superior workability and dimensional stability. Maple contains less tannin and minimal
lignin, reducing extractive bleeding stains. The high percentage of Polyethylene limits the dimensional variations of the wood. It is more
expensive than wood, but offers a higher quality material.
